Santa Fe, NM - The Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is pleased to announce that they have selected Ms. Mary Martin to be their new Executive Director. Previously, Ms. Martin was Executive Director of Clinico, where she was responsible for founding a 501-C-3 non-profit organization via the request of PetSmart Charities to build and operate seven high volume, high quality, low-cost, spay/neuter clinics in the Los Angeles County.
Prior to her Clinico position, Ms. Martin was Executive Director of the Animal Care & Control of New York City where she was responsible for five shelters caring for 44,000 animals per year emphasizing fiscal and operational analyses. Ms. Martin was also responsible for improving the efficiency of animal control services and furthering the goal of “No Kill” for New York City. Ms. Martin reduced euthanasia to an historical low by increasing adoptions and rescue partnerships. Ms. Martin was Director of the Animal Rescue Center of the Animal Care & Control of New York City; where she was responsible for the day to day operations of adoption-guarantee animal shelter with a high volume mobile and stationary spay/neuter program providing service to outside animal welfare group and the public who have limited resources. Ms. Martin has held positions at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control, Phoenix, Arizona, Arizona Humane Society, Phoenix, Arizona, Tempe Veterinary Hospital of Tempe, Arizona, and Marmac Management, Inc., Phoenix, Arizona.
A resident of Long Beach, California, Ms. Martin attended Arizona State University, Tempe, Arizona. Ms. Martin begins her duties January 15, 2009.
