Chicago, IL-The Adler Planetarium in Chicago, IL, is pleased to announce that they have selected Ms. Janice R. Promer as their Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President. Ms. Promer will be responsible for providing leadership to the immediate operational, human resource and financial requirements for Adler’s success.

Ms. Promer was most recently the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President for Finance at the Erikson Institute, located in Chicago, Illinois, a position she has held since 2004. Prior to her position at the Erikson Institute, Ms. Promer was the Controller and Chief Administrative officer at The Great Books Foundation, an education materials publisher and training provider. She was the Chief Financial Officer and Board member at Success Lab, Inc. and held several positions at the BP/Amoco Corporation.

She earned her Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University in the study of chemistry.

Ms. Promer begins her duties on March 1, 2010.
