Rick King has nearly 40 years of nonprofit leadership experience as a nationally-known nonprofit executive search consultant and nonprofit chief executive officer.
Mr. King is the company's second President, following the founder, Jim Kittleman, in 1985. He has served as the lead consultant on hundreds of searches for chief executive officers as well as for senior-level management leaders for nonprofit organizations and institutions. He is a well-known speaker and educator in nonprofit succession planning and is the creator of Seven Steps to Leadership Transition Planning, a workshop for board chairs and their CEOs. He is also the author of From Making a Profit to Making a Difference (1999), the first book written on the subject of business career transition into nonprofit sector leadership. Prior to joining Kittleman, he served as chief executive officer of three different nonprofit organizations in the fields of human services and healthcare administration. He is a founding member of the National Network of Nonprofit Search Consultants.
Mr. King earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/Sociology from Illinois Wesleyan University, a Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Dominican University.
He has served as a Trustee of Dominican University for the past 11 years and is currently Chairman of the Board. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the First Nonprofit Insurance Companies and the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation.

Rhyan Mary Zweifler • Principal

Rhyan Zweifler has devoted more than 20 years serving the nonprofit sector with an emphasis on arts development and communications. She joined Kittleman & Associates in 1999.
Prior to joining Kittleman & Associates, she was a search consultant with another executive search firm in Chicago. With this firm she recruited leaders for museums, foundations, community and economic development agencies and youth and educational organizations. Previously, she created fundraising, board development and motivation strategies as an independent management consultant for a variety of nonprofit clients. She also worked with McPherson, Schultz and Associates, a development consulting and advertising firm located in Los Angeles. Ms. Zweifler consulted with social service agencies, public television stations, museums and hospitals in surpassing dollar goals and uncovering opportunities through innovative marketing and fundraising strategies. She also held development positions with the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles and the California Museum of Science and Industry.
Ms. Zweifler received a Master of Arts degree in Museum Management from John F. Kennedy University Center for Museum Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She serves on the Board of Redmoon Theatre.

Raylene Decatur • Principal

Raylene Decatur has served the nonprofit community for more than 25 years, working primarily in museums. She joined Kittleman & Associates in 2006 and manages its Western Regional office in Denver, Colorado.
Her extensive professional experience includes positions at well-respected institutions, such as, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, Chief Operating Officer of the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore, and Director of Exhibitions of the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. In addition, she worked at the Renwick Gallery of the National Museum of American Art at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
Raylene received her B.A. with Distinction from the University of Virginia and her M.A. from The George Washington University. She is the President of the Colorado Chapter of the International Women's Forum and is an active participant in a variety of nonprofit organizations.

Jane Luiso • Of Counsel

Jane Luiso has served the nonprofit community for more than 20 years. She joined the firm in 2003.
For a significant portion of her career, Ms. Luiso was associated with The Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago, one of the country's leading humane organizations. She began as the Society’s first Director of Development in 1986 and was promoted to Executive Director in 1992. During her tenure, Ms. Luiso doubled the agency's endowment and was responsible for numerous building and renovation projects including the Society's Education & Training Center. Prior to this, she served as the Administrative Manager of the National Association of Bank Women Foundation. She began her career in development at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as the first Director of Prospect Research and eventually became the Director of Corporate Relations. Prior to joining Kittleman & Associates, Ms. Luiso was the Principal of JSL Consulting, a nonprofit executive search firm.
Ms. Luiso holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of the Holy Cross and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. She is past President of the Board of Directors of the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators.

Alicia H. Yamada • Senior Associate

Alicia Yamada has 10 years of broad nonprofit recruiting experience. She joined Kittleman & Associates in 2000 as an administrative assistant and has since expanded her responsibilities to the Senior Associate level which includes directing the strategies for and management of candidate identification and development. She has worked extensively with mission-driven client organizations in such sectors as education, the arts and culture, healthcare, professional associations, grant-making, animal welfare, human services and conservation and environmental.
Prior to joining to Kittleman, she worked as a law receptionist at the law offices of Bockelie, Halliday, Woodhead, Knauer, Minas & Snow. In 1997 she accepted a White House internship position under the Clinton Administration where she worked for Thurgood Marshall, Jr., then Assistant to the President and Secretary in the Cabinet Affairs Office.
She is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree at Northwestern University in the areas of political science and organizational behavior. Alicia has served in volunteer leadership positions for the Japanese American Citizens League on both the local and national level.
